Dates :The "Corsican Circuit" International Chess Open Festival will be held in Ajaccio, Venaco and Bastia from 30th October to 5th November 2006. The total prize fund for the three tournaments is € 175 000 :

3rd Tournoi d'Aiacciu € 50 000
2nd Tournoi de Venacu € 25 000
10th Corsica Masters € 100 000

Corsican Rules :
Draw by mutual agreement are forbidden for the all tournaments

The Corsican Circuit Bonus consists in rewarding the players competing the three tournaments.
Each tournaments is a Swiss Tournament with a cup for the first.

Cadence : 10 minutes with 3s per move.

Corsica Masters : for chessplayers with a rating higher than 2100. To start off there was a series of qualifying matches among the top Swiss event finishers to find the 12 players who would join the seeded heavyweights. They play the 1/8 final at 5.00 pm the Sunday November 5th.

Open of Bastia : for chessplayers with a rating below 2200.

Young Tournament : for young players (under 16) with a rating lower than 1500. Free inscription
